Infant Mental Health

Infant Mental Health is the field that supports the earliest relationships between a child and their caregiver.  Research supports the notion that healthy relationships during the first three years of a child’s life are indicative of their future success.  Many parents struggle with their own negative experiences from childhood, their own trauma experiences or their own mental health concerns in addition to the stressors of raising a family in our society which make parenting much more challenging.  Receiving support in the very challenging but rewarding early years of a child’s life can help to increase positive behaviors, decrease acting out behaviors and support a child’s attachment and development.
